Pick-Up Process

You camper will be ready for pickup at the time and date stated on your reservation. To ensure a smooth pickup, here’s what you’ll need to know.

Check-In

You can check-in Online up to 48 hours before the rental or at the counter upon arriving at our location during opening hours.

Collect Key

After checking in, collect your camper key at the counter or from the self-service keybox if you’ve checked-in online.

Pickup Inspection

Before starting your trip you’ll need to confirm the condition of your camper and extras.

Watch Videos

Safe time and watch the videos before pickup. You’ll get access to the camper videos 72 hours before the rental.

Late Pickups

If your flight is delayed or for some other reason your are unable to make it in time for the pickup registered on your reservation, No Worries.

You can pickup the camper at any time during opening hours (9:00-17:30) or After Hours if you have completed the Online Check-In (closes 48 hours before the rental).

NO refunds are given for late pickups

We have simplified the pickup process for your convenience. Now you don’t need to rush through the check-in at the counter. You can check-in online and get your key right away upon arrival at Cozy Campers.

Missed Check-in Period

How Does It Work?

Transport to Cozy Campers

We offer a choice of three convenient transport options from both Reykjavik and Keflavik, available during opening hours, to ensure you can easily reach our location for your camper pickup.

Up to 48 hours before

1. Choose a transport option

You have up to 48 hours before the rental to add transport to your reservation or change to another transport option.

You can add/change the transport:

During the booking process.
Through the email sent to you 7 days before the rental or by reaching out to us.

Please note that we can not add/change your transport option less than 48 hours before the rental.

48-12 hours before

2. Claim your transfer

You’ll need to submit your transfer details through the email sent to you 48 hours before the rental to claim your transfer.

When the transfer has been claimed you will get a confirmation with all the necessary information regarding how to use your transfer.

Don’t forget to submit your transfer details as we are not able to arrange the transfer less than 12 hours before the rental.

You will be privately transported from the City Center/Hotel in Reykjavik directly to Cozy Campers where you will receive the camper.

Transfer time: 75 minutes

The Flybus will take you from KEF airport to BSI Bus Terminal in Reykjavik where you will catch a ride to Cozy Campers and receive the camper.

If your flight is delayed past 15:30 you will be arriving at Cozy Campers After Hours and can ONLY Access the camper if you have completed the Online Check-In 48 hours before the rental.
Please note that we do NOT cover the cost of the ride from BSI if you arrive at Cozy Campers outside of opening hours.

What airport will I be landing at when arriving in Iceland?

You will be landing at Keflavik International Airport (KEF airport).

Note: Reykjavik airport is a domestic airport ONLY.

Cozy Campers is located in the greater Reykjavik area (Kópavogur), about 45 minutes from KEF airport

What happens if my flight is delayed passed your opening hours?

1. If you have completed the online check-in you don’t have to worry as we can arrange self service AFTER HOURS pickup for you (online check-in closes 48 hours before the rental).

2. If you have NOT completed the online check-in and your flight is delayed past:
– 15:30 if you have opted for the flybus option from KEF airport
– 16:00 if you have opted for the private transfer from KEF airport

You will unfortunately have to pickup the camper the following day (no refund is given for late / missed pickups)

I'm having trouble with the online check-in, what should I do?

Please contact us and we will assist you with the trouble.

Tip: If you are having trouble uploading your drivers license photo, it’s usually because the file is too large. Please lower the size of the file and try again.

Please note that the online check-in is open from 7 days before until 48 hours before the rental. After that time it is not possible to complete the check-in online, it will have to be done at the counter during opening hours.

I haven't received any emails regarding my pickup/transfer, what should I do?

If you haven’t received any email from us, check your spam folder. If you can’t find them there please contact us.

Note: Emails are sent to the email address registered on the booking so make sure you are logged into the correct account.

Drop Off Process

Your camper must be returned to our location at the time and date stated on your reservation. To ensure a smooth drop off, here’s what you’ll need to know.

Gather Belongings

Upon your return we kindly ask you to gather your belongings and throw away trash.

Return Key

After you have emptied the camper it’s time to return the key for the drop off inspection.

Drop-off Inspection

We’ll need to verify the campers condition, ensuring it’s returned in the same state as received.

Check-Out

It’s time to complete any outstanding formalities before finalizing your check-out.

Late Returns

If you return the camper 1+ hours later than the drop-off time registered on your reservation a Fine of 100€ will be charged for every hour you are late.

Early Returns

If you wish to return the camper earlier than the date / time registered on your reservation please notify us 1 hour before your return.

NO refunds are given for early returns

After Hours Drop-Off

If you wish to return the camper After Hours a security deposit equivalent to your insurance self-risk will be taken at check-in. The security deposit amount depends on the insurance you choose.

We offer a FREE ride with our shuttle to downtown Reykjavik every day.  To secure a seat you’ll need to return the camper No Later Than 45 minutes before the shuttle departure.

Can I return the camper at KEF airport?

No, campers must be dropped off at our location: Kársnesbraut 106, 200 Kópavogur

How long before my flight should I return the camper?

You should return the camper about 4 hours before your flight departure.

When planning your return to KEF airport keep the following in mind:
– It’s recommended to be at KEF airport about 2 hours before a flight departure
– It takes 45 minutes to get from Reykjavik to KEF airport
– The drop off process takes about 45 minutes (note: it takes at least 60 minutes in case of a damage)
– Don’t forget to take the Cozy Shuttle and Flybus departure schedules into account when planning your departure. You can also take a taxi directly to the airport if you are in a hurry.

Note: We open at 9:00 so if your flight departure is before noon (12:00 or earlier) you will have to return the camper AFTER HOURS. In that case we require a security deposit depending on the insurance you chose (0-4.000 EUR).

My flight departs early in the morning, what should I do?

If your fight departure is before noon (12:00 or earlier) you will have to return the camper AFTER HOURS. In that case we require a security deposit depending on the insurance you chose:
– Insurance declined: 4.000 EUR
– CDW Insurance: 3.000 EUR
– SCDW Insurance: 1.000 EUR
– Premium Insurance: 0 EUR

If you do not want to return the camper After Hours you are welcome to return the camper by 17:00 the day before (no refund is given for early returns).

Do I need to return the camper with a full fuel tank?

Yes, you will need to return the camper with a full fuel tank or at the level you received the camper. If you do not we charge for the fuel needed to fill the tank as well as a service fee.

Don’t forget to return the receipt / photo of the last fill up so we can verify that DIESEL was put on the camper.

Do I need to return the camper clean?

No, we offer free cleaning, however we do ask you to empty the camper before returning the key.

Note: If the camper is exceptionally dirty ON THE INSIDE when dropped off we charge a service fee for extra cleaning.
